Kristen Stewart Wants To Be A ‘Better Person’ Like Snow White

‘She’s truly bleeding for other people,’ ‘Snow White and the Hunstman’ star says on ‘MTV First’ about her character.

Kristen Stewart puts her inner action star on full display as the butt-kicking Snow White in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” But, it’s her vulnerability that Stewart related to most with the chainmail-wearing princess.

“I think that I related to Snowy because … I love her,” she laughed to MTV News during “MTV First: Snow White and the Hunstman” on Tuesday night. “She feels such strong things and sort of can’t say exactly why she feels those things … and I can completely relate to that and I also can relate to feeling arrogant about it a little bit. Sort of like ‘It’s not about being who you are; it’s sort of not saying what everyone thinks I’m going to say because I’m uncomfortable’ … She’s like very instinctive and sort of awesome in that way.”

Having already brought to life one literary heroine playing “Twilight” leading lady Bella Swan, she explained that she didn’t feel pressure to have to tackle Snow White, mostly because there was enough room for her to interrupt the character the way she felt was natural.

“I mean she’s such a child in the beginning and has such a strong sense of self in a way that sort of isn’t normal, like supernaturally almost,” she said. “She’s got this connection to the Earth and to her people that makes her like so truly empathetic and not sympathetic.

“She’s not putting herself in a position and going, ‘Oh, how horrible would that be for me.’ She’s truly bleeding for other people,” she said. “It’s a different feeling. It’s something I want to get to if I can be a better person. She’s a great girl. She’s a good person.”

“Snow White and the Huntsman,” which also stars Charlize Theron (who plays the evil queen Ravenna), Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman) and Sam Claflin (the charming Prince William), hits theaters June 1.

Visualized: Second-gen Samsung Series 9 gets torn down to its ultra-slim components

Chances are you’re no stranger to the Samsung Series 9 — the first generation stood out for its slimness, and the most current version is an impressive 28 percent thinner. If you’re wondering how those notebooks can be so dang skinny, your curiosity will be satisfied by Samsung’s teardown of a 13-inch model. A thinner LCD and a customized main board contribute to the machine’s slight profile, as do a 40 percent slimmer touchpad and a built-in lithium-polymer battery. As is so often the case, the pictures speak much louder than words, so hop over to Samsung’s blog for a gander.

LG Optimus 4X HD hands-on

LG Optimus 4X HD

Greetings from CTIA 2012 here in New Orleans, where today we got our paws on the latest and greatest hardware from LG. First up is the company's latest flagship device, the Optimus 4X HD. We first got a look at this beauty back at Mobile World Congress, but like true techies, we just needed another round with it. The Optimus 4X HD has got the guts to go up against the heavy hitters on the market today: underneath the hood we've got a Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, and Ice Cream Sandwich. LG has done a bit of tweaking to its Tegra 3, optimizing a fifth core for light, non-intensive usage that's designed to save precious battery life.

Speaking of battery life, LG is really focusing on improving it. In addition to packing 2,150 mAh battery, LG is making the most out of Android 4.0's battery optimizations, in addition to its own software tweaks. We're glad to see it, as that 4.7-inch "True HD" IPS display is certainly not a battery sipper. Hopefully, with what LG has done, we'll see some solid and respectable talk and standby time here.

LG is hush-hush on release dates and US carrier information, though after talking with representatives, I certainly got the feeling it's coming sooner rather than later. We'll keep our eyes peeled, of course, and until then, enjoy another round of hands-on after the break.

Hands-on with Edgewater’s WiFi3

Image

Edgewater may not be a familiar name for even the most tech savvy, but its WiFi3 chipset is poised to propel the wireless industry beyond the limits of traditional access point tech. Aiming to leap past the low power solutions provided by the likes of Cisco, the company’s developed a proprietary standard that delivers multiple channels per radio — three channels over 2.4GHz in the showfloor demo — versus the typical single channel currently employed. The chipset’s not necessarily an end consumer product as it’s intended for use by carriers, enterprise and ISPs, but it does stand to clear up the clutter when network congestion gets unwieldy. Check out our galleries below for a closer look at the outfit’s next gen step in wireless infrastructure.

Clarion Next Gate brings iPhone apps (and distractions) to your windshield

Clarion Next Gate brings iPhone apps (and distractions) to your windshield

Clarion is primarily known for its aftermarket car audio and navigation solutions, but it’s increasingly moving into the realm of smartphone integration. Looking to court iPhone users who’d appreciate the connectivity and convenience of Pioneer’s AppRadio, but don’t care to fuss with the installation, Clarion’s Next Gate can be easily mounted to one’s windshield. It offers access to popular apps such as TuneIn and Pandora, along with navigation, hands-free calling and voice-dialing functionality. Scarily enough, users will even be able to access Facebook and Twitter via the voice-activated Vlingo app — please, just promise to keep your focus on the road. The display itself is a 7-inch, WVGA affair, and as you’d expect, the unit is powered by the vehicle’s 12 volt accessory jack — otherwise known as the cigarette lighter receptacle. Similarly, the Next Gate connects to the iPhone via Apple’s dock connector, which means that users will need to manage a bit of cable clutter.

All in all, the Clarion Next Gate could certainly be a compelling solution for some, and its $270 price is within the realm of reason. While we’re a bit concerned about what it entails for driving distractions, the unit shouldn’t be any worse of a diversion than the ol’ smartphone itself. In fact, we’re most disappointed that there’s no support for Android. Those in the privileged iPhone community will be able to purchase the Next Gate as of June 1st, and you’ll find the full PR after the break.

Watch These Real-Time Skaters Ride a Stop-Motion World [Video]

It’s an amazing effect. Filmmaker Russell Houghten combines stop-motion and real-time video in Open Horizons, and not just in alternating sequences. He actually mashes them into the same scene, the same shot, at the same time. I have no idea how he did it but I want to see more. [F-Stoppers via PetaPixel] More »

Rugby League Or Rugby Union?

Popularly known as the game for tough men, rugby has made its way from the shadows of soccer. This is to the point of making the game a well-known sport in many countries. One proof is the formation of different clubs that separate rugby as a professional sport.

To implement better game administration, rugby games are split into two governing bodies the rugby league football and the rugby football union. Apparently, the rugby league is far safer than the other since the league implements strict rules in gaming. However, rugby union accepts wider TV coverage because of the action that the game brings. Rugby union is popular for violent gaming tactics.

Setting the difference between the two games is hardly difficult. Some sports enthusiasts even compare rugby league and rugby union to checkers and chess. This is because both games play in the same field but administer rules differently. Rugby league has players that do the same thing as checkers move the ball forward and reach the goal. On the other hand, the rugby union works like chess. Players have different roles to fulfill.

Rugby league club implements two positions for their players the forwards and backs which are also divided into specific positions. However, these positions often perform the same roles in order to score a goal. Players with big and bulky bodies are selected as forwards. They insist on tackling and attack. On the other hand, players who are small in height but run fast are categorized into backs. However, big players who can run fast also can be included as backs.

What makes rugby league club stand out is the simplicity of the game. There are many rugby players who prefer to be in a game where nothing seems to be very complicated when it comes to game rules. The thought that it separated from rugby union in 1895 is mere proof that the game aims to look for more advancements to speed up rugby gaming.

More amateur players work on rugby league club because it is believed to be a game of the working man. Rugby union clubs are introduced to many public schools in England, which makes it an establishment of future rugby professionals. However, here in the country, rugby league is believed to be similar with America football.
